I would like to understand different opinions on item registration in oracle. I would appreciate some information on why some of you would choose multi segment item (Ex: CXD_WF_875) versus choosing item revision (Ex: CXD...rev: A,B,C). There are models such as BOM, inventory, routing, and costing that do not support item revision. In simpler terms, user is unable to select a revision for a specific item in the modules mentioned above.
Please state your opinions and the reasons why you would choose one over the other. I would like to work with some positives and negatives for these two choices.
